Unless truly financially destitute, no middle class Filipino parent would even dream of sending his child to a public school in the country. In its current sorry state, it would be the equivalent of giving your child a death wish.
Children in private schools spend at least 6 hours a day in school, allotting about an hour per subject. There is one table and chair per child, and a class size of about 1 teacher per 30 to 40 students. Some classrooms are air conditioned.
